Yellowstone National Park - May 2012
On Mother's Day, the Park's meadows were filled with newborn bison calves, snuggling up to their mothers to keep warm. Packs of wolves targeted the newborn bison calves, so the adults formed circles around the calves for protection. Even when the calves are only a few hours old, if the herd decides to move around in the Park, the calves have to keep up with the herd. There were little red bundles of fur all over the meadows that morning!
